How God Sees Us

Have you ever worried about how others see you? How do you see yourself? Do words like, unlovable, unworthy, useless, or stupid ever cross your mind? Do you constantly doubt yourself, or put yourself down? I know personally that this has been a struggle for me, especially in the society that we live in today. We are expected to be so many things. Sometimes we try too hard to be something that we are not and often it is irrelevant to what truly matters. We are taught from a young age that career and material things are of utmost importance. That couldn't be further from the truth.

So again, how do you see yourself? For so long I didn't realize God saw me differently than I saw myself. To Him, I am His child and am made perfect through Christ who lives in me. Matthew 5:48 says, "therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven."

God's definition of perfection is different than ours. You're not perfect in any sense of how the world looks at you, for example, long silky hair, an awesome sense of humor, or the IQ of Einstein. No, God's perfection is even more perfect than you can ever imagine. His plan for you is perfect. His works are perfect. What we need to understand is that He created us for more than we tend to see in ourselves. Psalm 139:13 & 14 say, " for you created my innermost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made your works are wonderful, I know that full well." David is talking about how he is God's creation and that's about you too. God doesn't make mistakes. You are amazing and are" fearfully and wonderfully made.", that is how God sees you.   He sees you as valuable, unique, and worthy of His love.

Ephesians 2:4 and 5 say, " but God is so rich in Mercy, and He loved us so much that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace you have been saved.)"  So stop listening to the lies. See yourself differently. Look at yourself through God's eyes. You are not who you once were. When you accepted Christ, everything changed. II Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore if anyone is in Christ the new creation has come; the old has gone, the new is here." This means you are new in Christ, even today! Get rid of those thoughts along with the old you. They are only lies from the enemy. James 4:7 says, "Submit yourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee." You are so much more than you know. Don't forget who you are and where you came from. God loves you and created you to be you. Embrace it!
