Seeking God
As a church, we talk a lot about the act of SEEKING God (hence our stated mission of "Bringing people into a closer relationship with Jesus")
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you" declares the Lord...
We've touched on this several times and PT covers this ground very regularly in his sermons. Unfortunately, some Christians become disillusioned with church and/or God because they don't understand the concept of a direct relationship with Jesus Christ. Bottom line: we've got to come to Him. He desperately wants us and loves us, but we HAVE to come to Him. He's talking to us all the time, but we only hear Him through OUR seeking. So if you're wondering what this relationship is like or about, start talking to Him. Dust off your bible. Pray that He reveals Himself to you. Don't become frustrated, it may take awhile. But if you're serious and faithful, He WILL reveal Himself to you.
