Faith

Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

We all have faith in things, such as when we go to start our car. We have faith it will start. When we go to the doctors we have faith they know what they are talking about. Faith in these things goes without saying. However, our faith is really only as good as the object we put our faith into.  Our cars are going to break down. Doctors aren't always going to have the answer. Yet we have faith in them.

Why is it harder to have faith in God, even though the Bible tells us over and over again to have faith in Him?  Jesus says in John 20:29 “blessed are they that have not seen, yet have believed.”  God will never break down like a car or get the diagnosis wrong. God is Almighty.

We all have stuff in life. Things that bring us down and those things that lift us up.  God wants to hear it all. He has this amazing love for us.  He wants us to put our faith in Him.  I think true faith comes from simple obedience and believing in God no matter the circumstances or consequences. True faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

It's hard to put our faith into something we cannot see or touch, but if we just trust in God’s Word we will find that having faith in him is something we can feel. Trusting in God and keeping faith in Him is such a relief. We will have less worries less disappointment and less anxiety.  We don't have to hold on to the things we as humans hold on to. God takes them for us.  It's an amazing feeling to have faith in God.
